WHAT WE DO

Dreams & Wishes IS A MULTI AWARD WINNING Charity dedicated to putting smiles on faces by making unforgettable dreams and wishes come true for seriously ill children AND THEIR FAMILIES. Together, as a team of volunteers we work tirelessly to provide families with vital support while also helping to build memories by granting lifelong wishes.

The charity was founded in 2011 by Tony Curtis MBE who put together a team of volunteers who feel passionately about creating a charity that ensures every penny goes directly to helping put smiles on the faces of the children we support.

To date we have granted over 2000 wishes from purchasing iPads and laptops to providing entertainment for children throughout their illness, including summer and halloween parties and organising meet and greets with their favourite celebrities.

We believe every child deserves to smile and with your support we can provide joyful moments, giving children and their families something to look forward to through times of uncertainty and often financial as well as emotional strain.

Roop Buttar, a parent of a child who we helped explained, “Thank you so much for gifting our little Ajooni the iPad she wanted for a long long time. We have episodes of hospitalisation where she is isolated and can’t leave her room for days due to neutropenia for days on end. This iPad will help to make our hospital stays slightly more bearable. No words to express our gratitude for all that you do for poorly babies. May your charity shine bright and put smiles on many more faces.”

We organise a range of trips and events across the UK where seriously ill children can bond with one another and create happy memories with other children and their families too. Don’t just take our word for it…

Putting smiles on faces for Christmas

Dreams & Wishes Charity has brought a touch of festive magic to 12 seriously ill children and their families with an unforgettable day in London. It was a busy run up to the festive period for everyone. The charity, which works tirelessly to create cherished moments for seriously ill children, delivered a truly special experience filled with surprises and a sprinkle of festive cheer.

The magical day began with an exclusive visit to the iconic House of Commons, where the group was welcomed by Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle and his wife, Lady Hoyle. Guests enjoyed lunch in the historic Speaker’s House, beautifully adorned with festive decorations. Sir Lindsay shared heartfelt words with the children and their families, saying: “Welcoming you all here really makes my Christmas. You really make me happy. My dreams and wishes have come true. You have helped to bring the House of Commons alive.”

Santa Claus and Lady Hoyle then delighted the children with presents, while Frozen princesses and Peter Pan added an extra layer of enchantment to the occasion.

The adventure continued with a trip on the London Eye, courtesy of Merlin’s Magic Wand, where the group enjoyed spectacular views of the city illuminated.

"This trip was all about bringing children and their families together to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the Palace of Westminster and to spread a little festive magic during what can be a particularly challenging time of year for the families we support," said Tony Curtis MBE, Chairman of Dreams and Wishes Charity.

Adding to the day’s magic were performances by pianist Dominic Ferris and support from the Welsh Guards and 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, who made the experience even more memorable for the children.

Dreams & Wishes Charity, entirely volunteer-led, continues to make a profound difference by creating moments that families can cherish forever. "Every penny we raise goes towards fulfilling the wishes of seriously ill children and organising trips like this that bring families together. Seeing the joy these experiences bring to both the children and their loved ones is what drives us. We’re incredibly fortunate to have amazing supporters who help make this possible" added Paris Collingbourne, volunteer of Dreams & Wishes charity.

The team also delivered presents to hospitals throughout South Wales with some help from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Santa and the Welsh Guards. They stopped off at The Grange in Cwmbran, Morriston Hospital in Swansea, Velindre hospital in Cardiff and the University Hospital of Wales. One of the patients at Velindre said: "It was so uplifting to have the visit and nice to see some colour on the ward. Thank you."
