Wow, what a fantastic afternoon at Cardiff Arms Park for the Cardiff Lions against the Cardiff Drag Queens annual match.

 

More than 4,000 tickets were sold, fun and entertainment was had all afternoon and more than £20,000 was raised for Dreams & Wishes.

Huge thanks to the Cardiff Drag Queens, Mary’s and the Cardiff Lions for all their hard work in making this such a great event and their fabulous donation.

 

Cardiff Lions became Wales' first inclusive rugby union football club when it was set up in 2004, and prides itself in being open to players of all skill levels and sexual orientations.

 

After the match, Mary's wrote on social media: "We're truly overwhelmed by the attendance for Drag Rugby. It's by far our biggest and

best year to date raising an amazing amount for Dreams & Wishes. We have to thank so many people...every single drag queen who gave up their free time to participate. To all the staff at Mary's who helped with scanning tickets, merchandise and everything else that needed to be done."

 

A spokesperson for Dreams & Wishes said: "We are so grateful to everyone who took part in such a fun event. We are overwhelmed by the amount of money raised. Every penny will be spent helping us put smiles on faces."
